Civilian Rifle Team Fundamentals - CRT I
Course Overview
This course introduces participants to the principles of operating as part of a coordinated rifle team in austere and emergency environments.
Training focuses on communication, movement, security, accountability, and decision-making within a small group. Participants will learn how teams organize, move, maintain security, respond to changing conditions, and work together to accomplish objectives while minimizing unnecessary risk.
Instruction combines classroom learning with practical field exercises. Students will be introduced to rifle team formations, movement techniques, spacing, rally points, perimeter security, individual responsibilities, verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and the integration of electronic communications within a team environment.
This course is specifically designed for civilian application. The emphasis is on preparedness, community resilience, emergency response, and responsible coordination during natural disasters, extended emergencies, remote travel, and other situations where mutual support and organization may be required.
This is not a military training course. The focus is on practical skills, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and the ability to function as an asset rather than a liability within a coordinated team as applicable to civilians.
